Here's to 2008!

No, I have not forgotten to blog, I just haven't had much to blog about. BUT, 2008 will be a better year...I have several projects started/all but completed/many want to do, but my first project for the year will be to move my sewing room into Molly's old bedroom. Have to paint, build shelves, make it someplace I want to be! Any recommendations for ideas I should consider before I get started? I helped a friend make her family quilts for Christmas - which they loved - but had my kids quilts pieced and ready to sandwich, but never managed to get done. Oh well...I figure I will have them for another day - like a birthday or something. I definitely need to manage my time better. I'm still somewhat in a slump, but hope my new sewing room will give me that boost I need! Joe and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary in Sept and my goal is to make us a double wedding ring - I have 9 months to get it done - surely I can do that!

Hope everyone has a great 2008 and manages to finish all their projects whatever they may be!

By the way Chris, does that mean I have to call you Dr. Ditzler?

You can just call me the informal Doc D. LOL! Don't worry it will be many years before I get that far.

What colors are you going to do your double wedding ring quilt in? I can't wait to see it. I still have Katie's room here. I think I am going to make it a guest room this year. I need a guest room for when you and Sylvia come to visit. Hint, hint!!!

Oh My Gosh! It is so good to hear from you again! I bought the book Creating Your Perfect Quilting Space. I highly recommend it. The book gives so much information on ergonomics as well as great ideas. I wanted to change so many things in my "studio" as they call it.

I used the John Flynn technique for making a double wedding ring. He has a book on it. No matter which technique you choose, it is a very time consuming quilt. I've made two and still don't have one of my own.

Beth use the JOhn Flynn method. Sylvia taught it in a class that I took and I have made 3 but still don't have one for me!!! lol I need tomake one for my daughtor and niece this year so maybe I can sqeeze one forme in there. Anyway, it does move pretty fast once you have the hang of it and can do alot of chain sewing on it.
Good luck I can't wait to see!!!
